Captain Sal Campanile, owner/operator of Tunatime Sportfishing, is a U. S. Coast Guard licensed captain / International Game fish Association licensed captain, and member of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary. He established and owned an offshore fishing school and charter business in south Florida and the Bahamas for 8 years, providing a professional “hands on” fishing school for anglers from all over the world. Tournament wins include the Pompano Beach Saltwater Slam- Big Fish Division/Heaviest Tuna and Pompano Rodeo Big Fish Division - Winner.

Captain Sal’s fishing experience is global, from catching broadbill swordfish in the Mediterranean, chasing giant bluefin tuna in the north Atlantic, swordfish and sailfish in Florida to wahoo and marlin in the Bahamas. His client list includes presidents , astronauts , pro athletes and movie stars.But It doesn’t matter who you are, you can expect a first class fishing experience with captain Sal and his highly skilled staff.

Roosterfish
Hard fighting and beautiful looking inshore species, can grow to well over 100 lbs. World record-114 lbs (Mexico)

They get big (200+ lbs.) and put on a spectacular show or aerobatics and are found inshore and offshore

Mahi - Mahi (Dorado)
Brilliantly colored in blue, green, and yellow - stubborn acrobatic fighters and can grow to over 80 lbs

Wahoo
These speedsters can hit your bait doing over 50 mph! Hold on tight and don’t try to stop them! Can exceed 180 lbs. World record 187 lbs (Mexico)

Blue and Black Marlin
Big and majestic - these beauties grow to well over 1000 lbs and will pull off 600 yards of line in less than 60 seconds!

Giant Yellowfin Tuna
These waters regularly produce “cows” to over 300 lbs! “It’s like hooking a freight train so be prepared for an offshore tug-o-war!” Have a blast with schools of 60-120 lb. “schoolies” . World Record – 388lbs. (Mexico)

Broadbill Swordfish
These ocean gladiators are not specifically targeted but specimens over 600 lbs. have been caught and I know there are bigger ones out there. We are planning some exploration night sword trips. We’ll keep you posted!

Rates & Trip Info

There are less expensive charter trips out there but remember you get what you pay for, especially when it comes to offshore big game fishing. We're not afraid to burn a couple of hundred gallons of fuel and we will stay out as long as it takes to hook you up - 12 to 16 hour trips are no problem for us.

Full day inshore : $975.00 This is light tackle fishing for roosterfish , jack crevalle , sailfish , cubera snapper (pargo) , grouper , and dorado . We fish outside of the bay along the spectacular coastline north of Punta de Mita ,Litibu , and Sayulita .

Full day offshore (Roca Corbetena) - $1300.00 This is offshore big game fishing for yellowfin tuna , striped marlin, black marlin , blue marlin , pacific sailfish , dorado , wahoo, cubera snapper, and amberjack . We fish the area around and beyond the now famous roca corbetena , on this trip it is not unusual for us to cover over 120 nauticalmiles of prime fishing waters !

Full day offshore - $1500.00 This is offshore big - game fishing at "El Banco" , the famed bank ( El Banco ) Species targeted are the same as at roca corbetena . We fish the area surrounding and beyond this marlin and tuna hotspot which lies approximately 40 nautical miles northwest of Punta Mita . We may cover over 160 nautical miles of prime fishing waters on these trips !

We do offer multiple - day discounts as well as off- peak rates.

We can also "customize" a trip for fun , light tackle fishing , reef fishing , whale - whatching and snorkeling - $150.00 usd per hour ( 5 hour minimum ) great for families and kids , couples , and those who would enjoy a great day of fun and sun in our beautiful clear, blue waters .

All of our trips are all inclusive of drinks , snacks , ice-filled coolers , tackle , live bait , fishing licenses , and we take great digital photos of you and your fish throughout the day . You can bring your own alcoholic drinks and whatever you like to eat throughout the day.
