The Buddha Bar in Sayulita is where East meets West in a tropical Mexican pueblo. Lavishly decorated with incredible furnishings from India to Indonesia, Sayulita’s newest restaurant and bar is sure to please not only sensations of taste, but also of site and sound as well. Located just behind Don Pedro’s (one block from the Sayulita plaza) the Buddha Bar is conveniently situated in the heart of “downtown” area. You just cannot miss the hot pink neon Buddha, patiently sitting and waiting to welcome you to a very different, yet special Sayulita dining and eating environment. Make a left at the Buddha and head up the stairs underneath hanging oriental lights and through giant hand carved Balian wooden doors. Upon entering the this local, one feels as if transported directly to the far east. Colorful décor, elephant statues, wooden crocodile benches, waving overhead sails, and elegantly dressed cocktail waitresses make you feel as if you are in the heart of an upscale restaurant in Bangkok.

The Lichido Mojito is a must for anyone wishing to experience a new refreshing cocktail using a new twist with an indigenous Mexican fruit. Combined with rum and fresh mint, this cocktail definitely raises the “bar” for bartenders in Sayulita. The house margarita (2X1 from 6-8pm) also is a great thirst quencher after a day on the beach.
Besides a wonderful "Sushi menu" we also have a selection of incredible "local" seafood which includes such specials as Crisp Fried Fish with Tamarind Sauce, Grilled Lobster, Coconut Shrimp, Grilled Jumbo Prawns and Grilled Salmon. Deserts are handmade and can be complemented by a host of after dinner drinks including the Buddha Bar coffee with Amaretto, Brandy, Bailey's & Crème.
After the sun has set, the night lights come on in the Buddha Bar’s main dining area. Starting around 10:00 PM, the restaurant begins to transform to on of Sayulita’s groovy social scenes. Asian dining music gives way to stereophonic beats as the muted blue, purple, and green lights convert the feel and flow of the entire environment. A DJ usually takes the stages as friends begin to gather at the bar and in the dining area below. The scene is vibrant, hip, and culturally progressive. A vacation to Sayulita would not be complete without at least one experience in this family-owned and family-run Buddha Bar. Brand New: Make sure to check out our Art Expo on Monday evenings where we feature art, wine and live acoustic music.
